Artists for Palestine
As we have all witnessed the utter devastation of Gaza, sometimes our sense of helplessness needs to be redirected into action!
Artists for Palestine is a feature concert that we hope can uplift us, connect us with likeminded people and importantly fundraise for those in Palestine.
Artists for Palestine will feature a collective of immensely talented Sydney Musicians. Also featured on the night will be Art Stalls, Special Guest Speakers, DJ’s, Poets, Auctioned Prizes, Food and Beverages.
Artists for Palestine is a 100% BDS event and all money raised will go to:
· Olive Kids
· PANZMA (Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association)
· Assist in raising funds for Alaa Zaqout’s University Scholarship
We are excited to announce that Clayton Thomas and Sound the Alarm will be performing at “Artists for Palestine” on Saturday the 21st of November.
Clayton Thomas is a globally reknowned improvising double bassist. Since the beginning of this phase of Genocide in Gaza he has utilised his connections to community, and core belief in the role of music in society to help raise money for Palestinian families, and raise awareness of the violence under which they live, through the music and performances of Sound the Alarm.
Sound the Alarm is a large ensemble creating music in response to the silence of our governments and community. It is action that is a way to connect, express our grief and resonate in solidarity with the Palestinian diaspora, and everyone who feels the pain of bearing witness to the ongoing atrocity.
Every dollar of Sound the Alarm’s album sales and concert tickets has been donated to organisations working on the ground in Gaza and across Palestine. Since their first concert in January 2024, has helped raise over $14,000 in emergency aid.
On the night, Sound the Alarm will feature:
Hinano Fujisaki - tenor saxophone, Peter Farrar - percussion & woodwinds, Sam Gill - saxophones, Phillippa Murphy-Haste - bass clarinet & viola,
