Blacktown Arts invites you to Blue Velvet, an evening showcase of ambient and experimental music at Common House Studio .
Curated by radio broadcaster, DJ, and curator Aeddan Cox, Blue Velvet centres listening as an act of communion through immersive soundscapes conjured by some of Sydney’s most innovative, left-field performers.
Opening the night is Sina , whose ghostly vocals and reverb-drenched guitar conjures dreamlike soundscapes at the intersection of ambient music and shoegaze.
Western Sydney experimental, ambient musician Wytchings , and experimental noise artist S.C.U.M , blend their sonic worlds together for a debut, collaborative performance, weaving the ethereal with ritualistic noise abrasions.
Musician and performance artist Marcus Whale and experimental electronic producer Grasps unite for a collaborative performance, combining their surreal, atmospheric soundscapes at the intersection of dense club sounds and hazy electronica.
