In this program Minah Choe and Daniel Herscovitch present three contrasting 20th century classics for cello and piano: Benjamin Britten’s late Sonata composed for Mstislav Rostropovich, Elliott Carter’s groundbreaking Cello Sonata from 1948, Stravinsky’s neoclassic Suite Italienne, composed in 1932 and based on music by Pergolesi, and from the 21st century Kate Moore’s riveting masterpiece Velvet.
