In search of new disasters, the group returns to Sydney after years of absence. Housed by inspired local practitioners, the group pushes to new improvisational articulations of their 3 year trial of the long song.
On Monday October 5 (NSW Labour Day public holiday), the bodies ensemble perform at the Leichardt Uniting Church with a new 20 member choir of icon Sydney musicians and community members.
Opening the evening are performances from local supports no ceremony & Gayab (गायब).
Gayab (ग़ायब): a continual exploration in drone and melody. Members Toto, Lauren and Shota draw inspiration from paan-stained streets, the haphazardly planned infrastructural buggery of Sydney and its cultural disorientation.
no ceremony: Hinano Fujisaki & Jasper Craig-Adams, two forces of local music join as one. Undulating sound that unfolds in the moment: flute, sax or both; maybe bowed guitar, or zero-strummed, guitar-above-head feedback.
