Opus Now #37
Acclaimed Maltese pianist Gabi Sultana teams up with Chris Pidcock on cello for their second recital together of vibrant contemporary music. Ahead of Gabi’s collaboration with Ensemble Offspring, this special performance features Steve Reich’s exhilarating Piano Counterpoint, Kate Moore’s luminous Velvet and Shimmering Light and Walter Wolff’s epic Cello Sonata, a far-reaching work blending jazz-inflected vitality with dramatic lyricism.
