DESCRIPTION:ilex is the creative outlet and solo project of Sydney drummer\, percussionist\, and electronic music producer\, Holly Conner.\nSometimes heavy\, industrial\, and highly rhythmic\; sometimes texturally rich\, intricate\, and emotional - ilex is a performer with her own distinctive brand of percussion-meets-electronic music.\nilex is the creative outlet and solo project of Sydney drummer\, percussionist\, and electronic music producer\, Holly Conner.\nSometimes heavy\, industrial\, and highly rhythmic\; sometimes beautiful\, texturally rich\, intricate\, and emotional - ilex is a versatile\, creative\, and skilled performer with her own distinctive brand of percussion-meets-electronic music.\nPerforming solo\, ilex has supported DJs such as Tzusing (LIES)\, punk/noise group Behind You\, and producers 700 Feel\; as well as creating ambient iterations for the Sydney Biennale &amp\; Surfacing Series. In 2023\, she performed at the Sydney Opera House as a Freedman Fellowship Finalist. The Fellowship recognises artists at the forefront of improvised music in Australia. ilex has also been featured as fbi.radio’s Independent Artist of the Week\, following the release of her previous EP Visions of Elsewhere &amp\; single What Is Soft is Also Strong.
