Mari focuses predominantly on magnets attached to the piano strings, creating rich, chime-like tones that defy conventions of tempered tuning. Cass uses a range of objects on his guitar strings - wobbling singing bowls, a copper tube bowing the strings, electro-magnetic signals that interact with the guitar pickups - played in a way that creates a cozy feeling of ambiguity.
Mari and Cass have played frequently together as part of Splinter Orchestra, and have discovered a shared interest in string preparations as well as a propensity for sound worlds rich in detail and texture. This will be their first outing as a duo.
