FLOATINGLY: Laura Chislett and James Fortune (flute/s)
FLOATINGLY…Laura Chislett and James Fortune present a unique program of music spanning 125 years for solo and duo flute/s including the World Premiere of Arpisms by Chris Dench.
Music of adventure, discovery, reflection and more…
In the early ‘90s I recorded an entire album of Chris Dench’s intricate flute pieces for Etcetera Records.
It was reviewed in ‘Sounds Australian’: the album “amply demonstrates the superb results which can come from the intense collaboration of composer and performer… outstanding artistic quality of both the music and the playing”. Over the past thirty years Chris Dench has composed an additional two extraordinary “tetralogs” for the instrument. Arpisms is the most recent of those works.
