Fluid, searching and deeply committed to the moment, BELIEVE’s sound is shaped through a process of continual exploration that unfolds live, in real time.
Over the past three years, the group has forged a formidable reputation through an unwavering dedication to performance — presenting dozens of concerts and cultivating a musical language grounded in truth, trust and collective momentum. The band stretches the classic jazz quartet format — saxophone, piano, bass and drums — into vast and unpredictable terrain, with their debut album, ‘Spirits Of The Dead Are Watching’ (Relative Pitch Records,) being described as “a potent statement from four of Australia’s most experienced and dedicated improvisers.”
Comprising four of Sydney’s most innovative creative musicians — Peter Farrar, Novak Manojlovic, Clayton Thomas and Laurence Pike – and described by Mike Nock as “the most honest jazz being made today — music for our times,” BELIEVE is a band in full creative flow: immersive, fearless and not to be missed.
