In this new experimental work, underwater recordings and the human voice are drawn together into a musical offering to the deep.

Exploring innovative technologies for musical expression, Jessie uses motion sensors worn on her hands to shape her sound with movement and gesture. She seeks to bridge the gap between the impersonal digital realm and the inner world of song, memory and the subconscious.

Jessie Newling is a composer and vocalist in her final year of the Digital Music and Media program.
