Gary Warner 'sound | drawing'

sound | drawing is a solo exhibition of new, unseen and revisited works by me at fellow artist Tony Twigg’s SLOT Projects in Alexandria. 

Inside, a salon-hang of studio drawings accompanies new site-specific sound drawings, one each for Eliane Radigue and Cornelius Cardew, and Songs for Robert  Brown (2014), all for sonic-kinetic activation by visitors. 

Outside, To Be Titled Myriad (2025), a panoramic drawing, spans the SLOT Window space visible from the street 24 hours a day. 

The opening is on Saturday, 7 June 2025, 4-6 pm. 

I’d love to see you there, along with anyone you think might be interested. 

I will be sitting the space on Fridays and Saturdays, and creating sonic events each Saturday, 4-6 pm.

My plan for the listening events is to capture the analogue sounds of the sound drawings into various modular synth assemblies to create long-form ambient undercurrents in the space so that visitors can still sound/play the three sonic-kinetic pieces in accompaniment - a la Cornelius’s scratch orchestra manifesto…
