Pouya Abdi Quartet

German guitarist and composer Pouya Abdi makes his Sydney debut in a special concert featuring local musicians Oscar Peterson (bass), Alex Inman Hislop (drums), and Lauren Tsamouras (piano).

Abdi previously collaborated with Tsamouras in Hamburg during a memorable concert in July 2024 that brought together musicians from Hamburg and Sydney, and now in 2025 they will have the opportunity to perform together as a quartett. The concert will showcase original compositions, including selections from Abdi’s latest album, Govinda & Kamala, released in May 2024. The album, inspired by Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha, blends reflective themes with intricate musical storytelling.

This performance is a rare opportunity to experience musicians from opposite sides of the globe coming together for the first time in Sydney. The evening promises fresh improvisation, dynamic interplay, and a fusion of international musical influences.
