Jenna Cave:

In the last couple of years, local composer/bandleader Jenna Cave has found herself drawn to writing songs as a powerful means to explore, express and move through her emotional experiences during a period of deep loss, vulnerability and healing. Following on from her 2023 project “Grief, Hope, Love” with Kristin Berardi, Heart Songs is a new and more intimate performance vehicle for her songs. Themes to be traversed include the intersection of joy and grief, healing, loneliness, maternal love, and the power of hope; presented in contemporary jazz, bluesy, and pop-influenced harmonic settings.

Gabriella Hill band:

Gabriella, Jacques and Alex improvise and play Gabriella’s compositions. The music explores a range of sonic possibilities including textural densities, tension at different volumes and timbral combinations. Melodies and rhythmic archetypes are used as platforms for improvisation.
