The Phonetic Orchestra 'Silent Towns' 24-hour Livestream
The Phonetic Orchestra brings together musicians from such diverse backgrounds as Contemporary Classical music, Electroacoustic music and Experimental improvisation to create work that embraces site-specificity, extreme durational performances, and the fluid borders between composition and improvisation, the individual and the collective.
In ‘Silent Towns’, the Phonetic Orchestra takes the livestreamed performance as a potential site for radical research and experimentation, where new forms of presentation can be conceptualised, and ideas around community, assembly, ritual, and ‘liveness’ in performance can be challenged and redefined.
