We were right! The Northern Beaches IS ready to embrace some alternative art culture and after such a great reception with our last Experimental Sound and Drawing night in March, we are holding our second Sonic Moves at The Kave Bar, Newport this May!! Come and join us for a night of listening and responding if you wish through drawing and/or movement to the sonic works and performers on offer.

LINE UP:

*Hirofumi Uchino [Defektro]: DJ background noise Australian based Japanese artist who creates “noise” related performances, objects and exhibitions with wide range skills and methods. Founder of “Defektro” and “Lastgasp Art Laboratories”. http://lalweb.com/hiro-e.html

*The Composers Ensemble: https://www.facebook.com/composersensemble/ The Composers’ Ensemble was formed in 2015 amongst composition students at the Sydney Conservatorium, as a testing ground for new works and ideas. It became an avenue for the composers to play their own works amongst other like-minded and open-minded players. The ensemble puts a heavy emphasis on improvisation and experimentation. The Composers’ Ensemble has played at venues across Sydney including the Glebe Justice Centre, Eramboo Artist Space and in the upcoming Vivid Festival at the Sydney Conservatorium. *Seduna Sounds: second performance Seduna makes what she feels, drawing inspiration from a variety of different genres and melding them together to suit her mood. Whether its sombre electronica or lo-fi beats, her music is contemplative and always takes you on a journey. Seduna will be playing some new unreleased music as well as her usual vibey beats she sources completely from underground producers.

*The Small Thin Sharp Piece of Wood Ensemble: last performance.  ‘A spontaneous cocreation from a concoction of some of Sydney’s exploratory sound enthusiasts’

*Magali Rifflart: Live Drawing and Exhibiting Visual Artist Bio: Magali Rifflart graduated from the visual art school at Angoulême and then the university Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a Master of Art and International Creation. She began her international career in 2015 with exhibitions and artist residencies in New York, Budapest, Paris and now Sydney. She has also participated in several publications and self-editions, and has gathered together the collective COSMIC in 2016. She is inspired by her recurring travels to fuel her research and visions. Magali’s work process involves the connexion between altered states of consciousness, new technologies and the acts of creation to reach an intersubjective ecstasy with the world.
